Which Immunizations Do I Need?

Immunizations are child’s play, right? Wrong. Just because you’re over the age of 18 doesn’t mean you are done with immunizations. For example, the annual flu vaccine is recommended for every adult, especially those with compromised immune systems and older adults. But many of the immunizations you first received as a child—like Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) and Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (Tdap)—require adults boosters to remain effective.

For a basic understanding of which adult vaccines are needed, by age, consult the chart below.

See your doctor about when to get your annual flu shot this year and which other vaccines you may need.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) information on vaccine safety and effectiveness, many diseases that previously harmed or killed people have been greatly reduced or eliminated due to vaccines.
