Getting a diagnosis of COVID-19 can cause some uneasy feelings, but the good news is most people experience mild illness and can recover at home without medical care.
If your COVID symptoms are mild and you are able to recover at home without seeking medical care, it is important to still notify your primary care physician about your diagnosis. Your PCP may recommend over-the-counter medications to manage your symptoms, vitamins or supplements and at-home monitoring of your vitals.

These medications are being distributed by federal and state governments to certain retail pharmacies. If you are interested in being evaluated for antiviral medications, please contact your PCP or urgent care provider. If your provider determines that you meet the criteria, a prescription can be written and sent to one of the select pharmacies.
COVID Monoclonal Antibodies are available under FDA emergency use authorization for the treatment and prevention of COVID. It is administered by Banner Health at select locations, and requires a provider referral.
Your provider will evaluate your medical history to determine if you are eligible to receive COVID monoclonal antibody. However, based on very limited supplies, not all eligible patients may receive treatment.
COVID monoclonal antibodies are protective proteins that may help the body clear the virus faster and reduce symptoms when given soon after diagnosis. Certain monoclonal antibodies may also be used to prevent COVID infection if you have a compromised immune system. Banner Health is currently providing these treatments based on a referral from your regular healthcare provider or an urgent care provider. Your provider will send a referral to the Outpatient Infusion Center. Once the referral is received, someone from the Outpatient Infusion Center will contact you to review your order and schedule your infusion appointment. Outpatient Infusion Centers are available by appointment.

If you have already discussed your positive COVID result with a health care provider but would still like to be evaluated for treatment, you can either refer your provider to this website or you can schedule a telehealth or video visit appointment with a Banner Urgent Care provider.
To qualify to receive this treatment, you must be at least 12 years old and have mild to moderate COVID-19 symptoms that began less than 10 days ago. You also must be at high risk of developing severe symptoms or requiring hospitalization.

After you check in, you will have an intravenous catheter (IV) placed for medication infusion. Your provider will monitor your vital signs during your treatment.
The full treatment appointment will last between 1.5 and 2 hours. Please know that during this time you will need to stay in the infusion suite and will not be able to walk around the building.

Banner Health is accepting referrals for monoclonal antibody infusion therapy for treatment or prophylaxis. If you have a patient who may be eligible, you can refer a patient to one of our infusion centers for treatment.
